JEFFERSON - The Estherville Lincoln Central wrestlers competed in a four-team tournament in Jefferson on Saturday.
The Midgets, who will be short a few weights this season, filled just nine of the weights on Saturday.
The Midgets lost 57-17 to South Central Calhoun, 39-25 vs. Greene County and 63-16 against Norwalk.
Two ELC wrestlers went 3-0 on the day-Oscar Ramirez at 132 pound and Billy Snyder at 152 pounds.
Ramirez won by pin against Norwalk's Ryley Smith in 3 minutes 10 seconds. He won a 16-5 major decision over Jordan Challen of Greene County and won 11-8 against Logan Peed of South Central Calhoun. Ramirez is ranked seventh at 126 pounds while Peed is ranked ninth at 132 pounds in Class 2A.
Snyder also had one pin, beating SCC's Caleb Maguire in 38 seconds. He won by technical fall, 15-0 against Norwalk's Casey Rudolf in 2:50 and won 6-2 decision against Greene County's Daric Whipple.
One ELC wrestler posted a 2-1 record-Chase Bonner (220 and 285).
At 220, Bonner won by technical fall, 18-3 over Norwalk's Trystan Minnis in 5:22. He also won an 8-0 major decision over SCC's Nolan Machovec.
He moved up to 285 to take on Green County's Aaron Beaman and lost by fall in 42 seconds.
Joel McCoy (106), Thomas Bortvit (138), Blake Gjerde (145) and Jake Bortvit (182) all went 1-2 on the day.
McCoy received a forfeit against Greene County. Thomas Bortvit pinned Greene County's Jacob Labate in 5 minutes. He also lost in sudden victory to SCC's Ty Riley, -2. Gjerde defeated SCC's Trey Eddy with a 14-2 major decision. Gjerde also lost a 7-4 decision and a 5-0 decision. Jake Bortvit pinned Greene County's Jacob Vreugdenhil in 3:43.
Cole Budach (126) and Trey Trompeter (170) both went 0-3 on the day.
ELC hosts the first Lakes Conference double dual of the season as Spirit Lake and Western Christian come to town Thursday. Action begins at 6 p.m.
