Christmas on the Farm greets first snow

December 10, 2012
By Jenna K. Pollock - Emmet County Naturalist , Estherville Daily News

Emmet County Conservation saw a festive group at Christmas on the Farm this past Saturday, Dec. 8. Visitors looking for an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit enjoyed good company, homemade goodies and libations.

Tom and Lisa Hansen's horses Babe and Julie were a favorite at the event taking guests on wagon rides around the Peterson Point Historic Farmstead. Emmet County Conservation Foundation members, Jay and Betty Drury and Cathy Graves, offered valuable natural history lessons of the farmstead site. Emmet County Naturalist, Jenna Pollock, entertained creative minds with a snowman snow gauge and pinecone ornament crafts.

Holiday goers learned about upcoming events to be hosted by Emmet County Conservation, and they also had an opportunity to sign-up for the seasonal e-newsletter.
