HULL - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire girls battled to the end, but fell short in a 48-43 loss to Trinity Christian in Hull on Tuesday.
"We played a little better tonight and showed some signs of improvement," said GT/RA coach Todd Hough. "The girls did a nice job of battling all the way until the end. We just need to keep working on taking better care of the basketball and not giving the other teams easy baskets."
The Titans trailed 8-7 after the first quarter, but the two teams were tied at 22-22 at halftime. Trinity Christian pulled away with a 17-6 third quarter to lead 39-28. GT/RA won the fourth quarter, but couldn't quite over come the 11-point deficit.
Lauren Flaharty led GT/RA with 15 points and four steals. Brooke Hoffman finished with 12 points, five rebounds and three steals. Marley Bakken finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Morgan McGrauth, Grace Skattebo and Emily Moran each had two points. Hampson and Skattebo each had three assists.
GT/RA (3-5 overall, 2-1 in the Cornbelt Conference) hosts Harris-Lake Park in Terril on Friday.
