A new crop of babysitters

January 3, 2013
Estherville Daily News

Iowa State University Extension and Emmet County Public Health sponsored a Babysitting Clinic on Friday, Dec. 28, for area youth in grades 5 and up. Participants learned the basics of what it takes to be a good babysitter.

Guest speakers talked to them about rescue breathing, first aid, and safety. Parents of younger children also came and talked to the attendees about what they and their kids look for in a good babysitter.

Healthy snacks, ages and stages of kids, and how to change diapers were also discussed. Participants got to make a babysitting kit that they can bring with them when they go to babysit.
