Armstrong residents - as well as folks passing through on Highway 9 - will be really happy when they see Casey's open its new store at the junction of Highways 9 and 15 on Jan. 31.
Casey's, which last year bought the former Kum & Go in Armstrong as well as two others in Estherville, demolished the former Armstrong store this fall and has erected a much larger store on the same site. Angela Sparacino of The Nexxus Group says the store is scheduled to re-open on Jan. 31.
Brian Johnson, Casey's vice president of finance, said the store will feature made-to-order sub sandwiches as well as its traditional menu.
Johnson said customers can also look for an expanded coffee bar with multiple flavors as well as iced coffee and cappuccino. Other offerings will include ice cream and chile.
Customers will also find more cooler space with a walk-in beer coolers with a wider variety of packinging and brands.
Johnson said the store is hiring additional employees and will have a total of three pumps.
Not many people realize it, but Johnson said Casey among the top 10 retailers of pizza and donuts in the nation.
