WEST BEND - Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire got within throwing distance of West Bend-Mallard, but couldn't quite catch up in a 51-45 loss to the Wolverines on Tuesday.

The Titans led 13-10 after one quarter, but trailed 28-22 at halftime and 39-30 after three quarters.

"We couldn't quite match their aggressiveness throughout the game tonight," said GTRA coach Todd Hough. " We did do a good job of fighting our way back into the game at the end, but we had dug too deep of a hole. Once again turnovers really hurt our team tonight.

Lauren Flaharty led the Titans with 16 points and three steals. Brooke Hoffman finished with 15 points and two assists.

Marly Bakken had six points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists. Cassy Hampson had three points and two assists while Morgan McGrauth had three points and Grace Skattebo had two points and five rebounds. Also Alex Oleson had two steals.

The Titans did a good job of getting to the free-throw line where they were 16-for-27.

GTRA (3-9 overall, 2-4 in the Cornbelt Conference) hosts Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer in Graettinger on Thursday.
