North Union splits pair of games

CORWITH, STORM LAKE - The North Union boys basketball team split its past two games.

The Warriors defeated Corwith-Wesley-Luverne in overtime last Friday, 51-50.

North Union led 12-11 after one quarter, but trailed 29-19 at halftime and 38-32. The Warriors rallied to tie the game at 46-46 in regulation.

Aric Runge led North Union with 14 points, five steals and two blocked shots. Shane Mills scored 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Colton McConnell had 14 points, five assists and two steals. Colin Runksmeier had three points and Kaleb Olson had two points and six rebounds. Matt Adams also had six rebounds.

On Monday, North Union lost 63-30 to Storm Lake. The Warriors trailed 18-6 after one quarter, 31-17 at halftime and 46-27 after three quarters.

Jacob Braddock led North Union with 10 points while Adams had five, Runge had four, McConnell, Runksmeier and Dyson Umscheid each had three and Shane Mills had two. Runge had five rebounds and two steals. Adams also had two steals.

North Union (2-11 overall) was home against Manson-Northwest Webster on Thursday. The Warriors are at East Chain next Tuesday.
