Evelyn B. Origer

She received her education and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Fort Dodge.

On July 13, 1950, she was united in marriage to Darrell 'Bud' Moeding. She was employed at a telephone company in Fort Dodge as a telephone operator. In 1959, the family moved to Estherville and Evelyn, along with being a mom, cleaned homes, and then worked at Berkley's in Spirit Lake. Darrell passed away Jan. 23, 1972. On Sept. 5, 1975, she was united in marriage to William Origer in Estherville. The couple made their home in rural Estherville where they were engaged in farming. Bill died Nov. 30, 2010. In her leisure time Evelyn enjoyed making dolls, knitting, bowling and reading. Most important to Evelyn in her life was the time that she spent with her family and friends.

Evelyn was an active member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Monday church-quilting group and also was very involved in the Community Christmas Project. In her younger years she was also very active in VFW Post 3388 Auxiliary, serving on the Bingo Crew and pitching in and selflessly volunteering her time to whatever needed to be done "at the Club." Whether it be a funeral luncheon, a fundraising event, fish fry or a dance, Evelyn was there to lend a hand. Evelyn also was a member and served as past President of the Estherville Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi. She also was a member of the East Riverside Club.

Left to cherish Evelyn's memory are her children: Dana Moeding of Estherville, Diane Haisman and her husband, Kenny, of Estherville and Margaret Gebel and her husband, Rick, of Estherville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Buda and Gertrude Elsen and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Evelyn in death were her husbands, Darrell 'Bud' and Bill; her daughter, Debra Johnson; her parents; sister, Grace Porter and brother, Robert Hanson. Online condolences may be sent to www.henryolsonfuneral.com.
