County hearings planned on subdivision, zoning

Supervisors meet Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

The Emmet County Board of Supervisors will have public hearing and first reading of both the county's 2013 subdivision regulations ordinance and zoning ordinance Tuesday, Jan. 15 in the Emmet County Courthouse board room.

The public hearing and first reading of the subdivision regulations ordinance will be at 9:30 a.m. with the public hearing and first reading on the 2013 zoning ordinance to follow at 9:45 a.m.

Also Tuesday, Arvin Druvenga and David Schmidt of Winther, Stave & Co. will give the audit report for fiscal 2011-12 at 8:40 a.m.

At 9:15 a.m. the supervisors will review quarterly reports of the auditor, recorder and sheriff and the treasurer's semi-annual report. Supervisors will also review the 2012 wage report.

At 10 a.m. the board will hear a request from the Emmet County Driftbusters to help with purchase of a snow groomer with Local Option Sales Tax funds.

At 10:15 a.m. the board will report regarding the assistant to the Emmet County medical examiner.

Engineer Roger Patocka will give the road report at 10:30 a.m.

A public forum will also be held at 8:35 a.m. for public comment.

On Thursday the board will meet at 10:30 a.m. for exchange of initial proposals between Emmet County and the International Union Operating Engineers Local 234.
