An Estherville woman has passed away due to injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on Monday.

According to the police report, the Estherville Police Department was called to the scene of a personal injury traffic accident at 10:19 a.m., Monday, to the intersection of Iowa Highway 4 and Iowa Highway 9 involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The investigation revealed that a 2003 Ford Van owned by West Bend International Corporation and operated by Dean Lundgren, age 60, of Estherville was southbound on Highway 4 making a left hand turn to travel east on Iowa Highway 9. Lundgren did not see a pedestrian, later identified as 73-year-old Judith Anderson, also of Estherville, who was crossing Highway 9 from the south. Lundgren's vehicle struck Anderson within the crosswalk.
