Warriors hit from outside in beating Panthers

ARMSTRONG - The North Union girls picked up a home win with a 63-42 victory over Corwith-Wesley-Luverne on Friday.

The Warriors jumped out to a 15-4 lead and led 28-22 at halftime.

"They had a girl that got hot," said North Union coach Merle Tigges.

North Union began hitting outside shots against the Panthers' 2-3 zone in the second half and led 48-32 after three quarters.

Cheyanne Boland led the Warriors with 16 points while Aurora Oliver had 12, jasmine Clausen had 10, Madison Bollig had eight, Dena Looft and Maddy Irmiter each had six and Sara Rolling had five. Bolllig led the rebounding with seven boards, Rolling had six and Clausen and Irmiter each had five. Clausen also had six assists and Looft had three steals.

North Union (12-6 overall) is at West Bend-Mallard on Friday.
