SPENCER - All three of Spirit Lake Park's rated wrestlers won district titles on Saturday in Spencer to advance to the Class 2A State Tournament.

Second-ranked Doug Miner (120) will be going for his third straight title as he makes the trip to Des Moines this week. Zach Skopec (138), also ranked second, and Kenten Murray (145) ranked ninth also earned district titles.

Meanwhile Gage Roberts (106) and Cody Norton (285) both placed third while Brady Mart (195) took fourth.

Miner had a fairly quick day as he pinned Humboldt's Austen Gargano in 54 seconds and Spencer's Bailey Hawn in 2:08.

Skopec also didn't spend much time on the mat as he pinned Estherville Lincoln Central's Thomas Bortvit in 43 seconds and won a 15-0 technical fall over Humboldt's Thayland Bowman in the first period.

Murray also notched a pair of pins as he beat Spencer's Hunter Cauthron in 2:18 and then caught ELC's Blake Gjerde out of position to win in 1:25.

At 106 pounds, Roberts lost by fall to Spencer's Dylan Huntoon in 3:58, but came back to win by technical fall, 19-3, over Bishop Heelan's Alex Anson. He got a wrestleback, but lost by fall to Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley's Samuel Klarenbeek in 3:08.

Norton lost a 3-0 decision to Humboldt's Dylan Hendricks to start the day and won the consolation match by fall in 1:26 over BHRV's Gregory Palma. But Norton did not get a wrestle back as Hendricks lost in the final.

Mart was in a bracket with three rated wrestlers and lost to fifth-ranked Christian Brobst of Bishop Heelan in 46 seconds and then to seventh-ranked Ty Koldenhoven of BHRV.

Class 2A first-round and first-round consolation matches take place from 7-10:15 p.m. on Thursday.
