After falling behind by 19 points to Marshalltown in the first half, the Iowa Lakes women put together a better second half, but couldn't close the game in a 76-57 loss on Saturday.
The Lakers just couldn't make shot sin the opening period as they trailed 36-17.
The closest the Lakers would get in the second half was 15 points at 41-26 on a basket by Noelle Kindred, but the visitors always had an answer.
Myangel Johnson led Iowa Lakes with 22 points while Kindred finished with 12. Also Sunday Duop had seven, Shabreka Edwards had six, Ashleigh Dykes had five, Daria Jones had three and Carla Barrera had two.
The Lakers were 18-of28 from the free-throw line while the visitors were 22-of-29.
Iowa Lakes (8-20 overall, 4-10 in the region) travels to Fort Dodge to take on Iowa Central on Saturday.
