Santorum targeting Iowa for 2016 Presidential bid?

April 10, 2013
By Michael Tidemann - Staff Writer , Estherville Daily News

Officially announced or not, 2012 Iowa Presidential Caucus winner Rick Santorum is already barnstorming Iowa in what appears to be an exploratory campaign for 2016.

Santorum, Patriot Voices chairman, will visit Iowa for two events on Monday, April 15.

At noon, Santorum will attend a luncheon in Des Moines with John Paul II Medical Research Institute, an Iowa nonprofit research group that works for cures while protecting life. Senator Santorum is the National Spokesman for the Institute's Give Cures campaign.

The meeting will be at The Capitol Room in the East Village, 315 E. 5th Street, Des Moines.

At 5:30 p.m. Monday, Rick Santorum will give the keynote address at the 13th annual Spring Kick Off of the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition in Urbandale. Senator Santorum's remarks will focus on the future of the Republican Party and what must be done to ensure the party's future viability. He will discuss how Republican economic and social priorities are uniquely interwoven, and particularly how they both impact our country's future economic prosperity and our ability to restore the American dream for hardworking Americans and future generations.

That meeting will be at Des Moines Christian School, 13007 Douglas Parkway in Urbandale.

Santorum appeared at Pizza Hut in Estherville before the 2012 primary.
