The Iowa Lakes Community College Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing Tuesday, April 16 to review bids for the Sustainable Energy Resource Technology (SERT) building on the Estherville Campus April 16. Delaine Hiney, executive director of facilities management, will present the bids.
The meeting will be held in the auditorium on the Estherville campus at 3200 College Drive at 4:30 p.m. after a 4 p.m. planning session in the Bienfang Dining Room.
The SERT building is what was formerly known as the Medieval Glass building.
The board will also act on the personnel/consent agenda, including resignations, new hires and contracts as presented by Kathy Muller, director of human resources.
Clark Marshall, executive director of continuing education and economic development, will conduct a public hearing and present a resolution and bids received related to issuance of $975,000 in Industrial New Jobs Training Certificates, Series 2013-1.
Scott Stokes, Estherville campus dean, will give a presentation on the wind energy program.
Hiney will also present a change order for the swine facility at the college farm west of Emmetsburg.
Jane Campbell, executive director of marketing, will present the Iowa Lakes update, and Jolene Rogers, executive director of institutional advancement, will give the foundation update. Rogers will also present a SCADA software donation from Indusoft for board approval.
Robert L'Heureux, vice president of administration, will present the financial report and monthly bills for approval.
L'Heureux will also present a resolution to set a public hearing date to issue a capital loan for board approval as well as a resolution to issue debt.
The board will also hear oral reports from college president Val Newhouse and the trustees.
After the board meeting, the trustees will hold a joint board meeting with Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency 6 p.m. in the Bienfang executive dining room. After dinner, Kari Webb, STEM hub programmer, will give a presentation followed by a miscellaneous discussion.
