The Estherville Lincoln Central girls tennis players showed improvement, but Spirit Lake/Okoboji was still too much as the Midgets lost 8-1 on Monday.
"I thought the girls played well tonight and it was definitely an improvement from the last two meets," said ELC coach Larry Kirchner.
The Midgets' one win came at the No. 6 singles as Emily Jorgenson defeated Rebecca Owens 10-1.

At the No. 1 singles, Bailey Hagen had her chances as she led 7-5 against Rachel Westergard before falling 10-8. Also in singles play, Maddy Burns lost 10-3 to Olivia Rohlk, Samantha Rosinger lost 10-4 to Natalie Delaney. Amber Schacherer lost 10-1 to Heather Sorensen. Mackenzie Wilson lost 10-2 to Hanna Schoning.
In doubles, Hagen and Burns lost 10-0 to Westergard and Rohlk; Schacherer and Wilson lost 10-3 to Delaney and Schoning and Rosinger and Jorgenson lost 10-5 to Anna Vos and Ryan Petievich.
In junior varsity play, Rachael Mueller lost 8-0, Kaylee Nissen lost 8-4, Taylor Nissen lost 8-2, Emily Origer lost 8-0 and Macarena Cibran lost 8-0.
In doubles, Taylor and Kaylee lost 8-2 and Mueller and Cibran lost 8-1.
ELC hosts LeMars today.
