ELC golfers struggle at home

The Estherville Lincoln Central boys' golf team struggled on its home course Friday allowing Algona to leave town with a 184 to a 192 victory.

The Bulldog's Luke Terhark earned medalist honors with a 44 while ELC's Chris Seylar was runner-up medalist with a 45.

"The weather was gorgeous, but it's not what the guys wanted to shoot," said ELC coach Dave Van Roekel.

Rounding out ELC's scores were 49s by Jack Brashear, Corey Reeves and Tucker Milburn. Non-counting scores were a 50 by Clay Tredway and a 52 from Hunter King.

ELC's junior varsity defeated Algona 205 to 216.

Hunter Gifford and Jake Bortvit both shot 50s while Alex Molacek had a 51 and Ben Huntley had a 54.

Non-counting scores were a 58 by Levi Quastad and a 66 from Reese Vedder.

ELC's varsity travels to Storm Lake today for a tournament.
