One Estherville man is under arrest on drug possession charges and two others face under-age alcohol possession charges following an incident on Tuesday.
According to a release from the Estherville police, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, officers were called to 204 South 13th Street #5, in Estherville, in regards to the smell of marijuana coming from the apartment.
Upon arrival, officers detected a heavy odor of marijuana coming from the apartment. Contact was made with the individuals inside apartment #5 and they were identified as, Joseph Brashear, age 19, Casey Origer, age 19, and Joseph Clayton, age 18, all from Estherville.
The owner of the apartment was not home at the time, however, was able to give officers permission to search. Located during the search was a small baggy of a substance believed to be marijuana and numerous alcohol containers.
Brashear was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana which is a Serious Misdemeanor. He was placed in the Emmet County Jail where he remains pending an initial appearance.
Clayton and Origer were issued citations for under age possession of alcohol, which is punishable of a $330 fine.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
