Every table was unique at the annual Estherville Good Samaritan Society Tour of Tables Thursday night at the Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative community room.
"I was surprised by what a fun, well-attended event it was and how clever. I think it's something people look forward to," said table host Bernie Duitsman who dined at a table designed by her sister, Theresa Golden, along with Duitsman's daughter, Molly Struve, and Bev and Janet Anderson. "It's a nice way to be with a lot of staff in just a casual level."
Duitsman's mother, Nina Boever, is a resident of the Good Sam memory care unit which will have new furniture purchased from Thursday night's event.

More Duitsman family members were just one table over where Bernie's husband, Keith, and their son-in-law, Kyle Struve, sat at the "Morrell's" table given special ambiance with Hawaiian Punch and Beefeater's gin. In fact, there were several former Morrell's employees at their table - Marvin Boever, Bernie's father, who worked there for 37 years; Steve Friesner, 10 years; and Keith, 10 years.
Modern Woodmen matched funds raised by $2,500.
