Hardman wins 100 dash at Laurens

LAURENS - The North Union Girls Track Team finished fifth at the Laurens-Marathon Co-ed meet on Monday with 74 points.

West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley won with 126 points followed by Sioux Central with 121, Pocahontas Area with 119, Newell-Fonda with 97. Laurens-marathon placed sixth with 43 points and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven Ayrshire finished with six points.

MaKayla Hardman had the lone top finish for the Warriors, winning the 100-meter dash in 13.12 seconds. She finished third in the 200-meter dash in 27.65 seconds.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Jordan Guerdet, Emily Hagebock, Sara Rolling and Allie Ingalls took second in 1:13.84. Also second was Dena Looft in the discus with a throw of 98 feet, 10 1/2 inches.

Rolling tied for third in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 6 inches. Ingalls took third in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.46 seconds.

Also third were the 4x100-meter relay team of Ingalls, Sara Johnson, Guerdet and Hardman in 54.74 seconds; and the sprint medley team of Rebecca Boyer, Guerdet, Hardman and Ingalls in 1:58.63.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Paige Taylor, Jadyn Kissner, Hagebock and Johnson took third in 4:38.71.

Rolling placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:25.12. Also fourth was the 4x800-meter relay team of Kristian Peterson, Alexis Laubenthal, Hanna Gardner and Jeanette Govern in 12:58.20.

The distance medley team of Elizabeth Boyer, Maaike Weiser, Hagebock and Taylor finished fifth in 5:04.95.

North Union travels to Emmetsburg Thursday for the Class 2A District Meet. Start time is 4 p.m.
