Estherville Lincoln Central school officials recognized milestones of employment during a brief awards ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

Those recognized for 30 years of service-Clint Howard and Lannee Stine-both were presented a crystal statue from ELC superintendent Tara Paul.

Howard began working as a night custodian in 1983 and later moved to Demoney. Presenter Lil Jensen estimated how many times he had cleaned the hallways and fixed countless items for both the children and teachers. A member of the Estherville Fire Department, Howard also has conducted fire safety presentations throughout his career.

Stine began her career at Lincoln Elementary and then when that building was closed to McKinley. When McKinley was closed she then arrived at Demoney.

Jensen noted, "No one can color as beautifully as Mrs. Stine."

Not present but recognized for 25 years of service were Marcia Howard and Barb Valen.

Howard began her career with the childcare at Maniece and continued overseeing the childcare program, which is closing at the end of this school year.

Valen taught three years as a reading aide and then began teaching fourth grade at Roosevelt where she has taught since.

Recognized for 20 years of service with a red marble apple are Lynn Anderson (MS aide), Jenny Boggess (taught one year at Lincoln Central prior to merger); Ann Goebel, Maureen Hatland (HS aide), Sandy Jenson (Demoney aide), Donna Lauritsen, Susanne Mahin (also eight years at LC), Connie Reekers (also two years at LC) and Robyn Swisher (also seven years at LC).

Among the 15-year honorees was Lupe Arceo. Hired as an IRIS aide in 1998, she also began duties as a high school cafeteria cashier in 2002. Many faculty and staff wore Team Lupe t-shirts in support of Arceo, who now has cancer.

Other 150-year honorees were Kathy Asman, Jolene Lutz and Cathy Miller.

Those receiving a 10-year pen are Loren Anderson, Lorena Brant, Mindy Brechwald, Denise Christensen, Cindy Fisher, Lisa Nell, Lizbeth Ramos and Melissa Uittenbogaard.

Those receiving five-year pins were Laura Condon, Tara Huntley, Nancy Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Elinor Paulson, York Plagge, Amber Pruin, Katie Rezac, Ryan Rezac and Rosie Wolfe.
