DES MOINES - The North Union state qualifiers wrapped up the season with three events at the 2013 Class 2A State Track and Field Meet on Thursday.
Freshman MaKayla Hardman had the highest finish as she finished 16th in the 100-meter dash preliminaries in 13.27 seconds.
"That was one of her better times of the season," said North Union coach Loren Looft. "This was a great experience for her."
The Warriors' 4x800-meter relay team featured four newcomers to the state meet as well.
The squad of Brian Becker, Jake Adams, Aric Runge and Matt Adams finished 18th in 8:29.01. Runge is the lone junior of the quartet while the rest are seniors.
"They were a little short of their district time, but the boys ran their best," said Looft. "It was a great experience for them and I'm happy for them all."
Meanwhile the girls shuttle relay team had a little misstep and was disqualified for one of the runners taking off too soon.
"We told the girls we had to get some good starts to improve our time and those things just happen," said Looft. "All did their best and it's a great experience for the underclassmen."
Competing in the event were junior Jordan Guerdet, sophomore Emily Hagebock, freshman Sara Rolling and senior Allie Ingalls.
