DES MOINES - The Estherville Lincoln Central boys' track state qualifiers ran well in their final two events at the Class 2A State Track Meet on Friday.
Justin Heinrichs ran a career-best time in the 400-meter low hurdles to finish 14th in 56.76 seconds. He was ranked 16th out of 24 competitors heading into the event.
ELC coach Dick Barrett reports it's the second fastest time in the event in school history. John Duitsman holds the current record at 56.05 seconds.

"I'm very happy with Justin's effort," said ELC coach Dick Barrett.
Tristan Twedt of South Hamilton won the event in 54.02 seconds.
Meanwhile, the distance medley relay team also ran its best time of the year-3:43.43.
The quartet of Andres Blanco, Adam Reiter, Matt Burrell and Joe Heinrichs were ranked 21st in the event heading into the state meet and finished 17th.
"Andres and Adam ran their best combined times in the medley," said Barrett. "I'm happy we improved and that the three seniors got to come to state for the first time in their careers."
Blanco, Reiter and Burrell are seniors. Heinrichs is a junior.
Very little separated the competitors in the medley relay. The eighth-place medal team from Camanche finished in 3:38.72.
However Monticello won the event by 3 seconds over the rest of the field as they finished in 3:32.32.
