An Estherville woman has been arrested on numerous charges following a traffic stop early Friday morning.
According to Estherville police, at approximately 01:47 a.m. Friday, officers stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Central Avenue for driving erratically.
Officers made contact with the female driver, who was identified as 19 year old Melissa Clarke of Estherville. Upon further investigation it was determined that Clarke was operating under the influence. Clarke was placed under arrest for O.W.I.
During the course of the arrest Clarke resisted officers. Upon conducting an inventory impound of the vehicle, Officers discovered a substance believed to be marijuana, drug paraphernalia, as well as an open container of alcohol.
Clarke was charged with O.W.I, first offense a serious misdemeanor, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana-a serious misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor, onterference with official acts a simple misdemeanor, and possession of alcohol under the legal age, first offense, a simple misdemeanor.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
