The Emmet County Board of Supervisors Tuesday received endorsement of a proposed ditch-cleaning resolution from another quarter - the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Mark Schutt and Mike Mahoney of the Emmet County NRCS said they welcomed working with the county on the new resolution which actually puts in writing the county's current policy. Schutt said the NRCS could also give help to landowners who have problems with water from their property filling up ditches.
The board approved the resolution, then discussed the county's policy on charging for driveway culverts.
County engineer Roger Patocka said the county pays to replace existing driveway culverts and the landowner pays for the difference if a larger culvert is installed.
The board also discussed a bridge closed north of Swan Lake due to its condition.
