On Monday, Aug. 5, maintenance work is scheduled on Emmet County N52 (490th Ave.) from 1 1/2 miles south of Iowa Highway 9 to two miles south of Highway 9.
County engineer Roger Patocka said the asphalt surface on approximately a one-half mile segment of N52 is experiencing significant shoulder deterioration that will require excavation.
Emmet County N52 in that area will be closed to through traffic for at least one week, and possibly two weeks, depending on weather. Emmet County Secondary Roads will be performing the excavation work, and Tri-State Paving will be repaving the shoulders after they are reconstructed.
Detour signs will be posted during the excavation period of the projects. Traffic will be routed around the segment over Iowa Highway 9, Emmet County N60 (530th Ave.) and A33 (210th St.).
