Four men arrested for copper theft

EMMETSBURG - An investigation by authorities in Palo Alto and Humboldt counties into the thefts of copper from field irrigation pivots has resulted in charges being filed against four men.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office says a lengthy investigation into the incidents resulted in the arrests of Tyler Tinken, 30, of Clarion who was charged with two counts of first degree theft, second degree theft and third degree burglary. He was being held on a $40,000 cash or surety bond.

Ricky Habben, 40, of Palmer was charged with two counts of first degree theft, third degree burglary and second degree criminal mischief. His bond was set at $40,000.

Daniel Reames, 48, of Hardy was charged with two counts of first degree theft, third degree burglary and secondd degree criminal mischief. His bond was also set at $40,000.

And Nelson Troyer, 36, of Bode was charged with theft in the second degree. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Authorities say all of the victims in the cases have been contacted.
