EMMETSBURG - North Union struck first against perennial power Emmetsburg, but it was uphill for the Warriors the rest of the night in a 41-14 loss to the E'Hawks.
North Union scored first when quarterback Aric Runge scored on a 1-yard run. The PAT kick by Jonas Hoffman made the score 7-0.
But Emmetsburg answered with two touchdowns in that period, two more in the second, one in the third and one in the fourth for 41 unanswered points.
The Warriors capped the night with a 1-yard run by Braddock with the kick by Hoffman.
Cody Runksmeier led the Warrior ground attack with 59 yards on 13 rushes. Braddock finished with 35 yards on 11 carries, Marshall Klingenberg had 19 yards on four carries and Trent Pedersen had 22 yards on five carries.
Runge was 8-of-17 passing for 142 yards with one interception. Braddock caught four passes for 81 yards, Kaleb Olson caught two passes for 45 yards and Runksmeier caught two passes for 13 yards.
Emmetsburg rushed the ball 50 times for 324 yards and had 52 yards through the air.
Runge led the defense with 11 tackles, Olson had nine and Ethan Blair had seven. Blair also blocked a punt and Jacob Govern blocked a field goal attempt.
North Union (0-3) is home against Western Christian next Friday.
