ELC netters play at Spirit Lake

SPIRIT LAKE - The Estherville Lincoln Central volleyball team struggled through the Spirit Lake Tournament finishing 0-6 on Saturday.

The Midgets took one game on the day in a 21-17, 15-21, 15-8 loss to Trinity Christian.

In other matches, ELC lost 21-5, 21-8 to Sheldon; 21-13, 21-8 to Spirit Lake, 21-14, 21-11 to Sibley-Ocheyedan, 21-17, 21-16 to Okoboji and 21-10, 21-16 to North Union.

ELC leaders for each match are as follows.

Against Sheldon, Megan Jensen finished with three kills and three digs, Joslyn Moore had five set assists and Katie Gruhlke had an ace serve.

Against Spirit Lake, Jensen had three kills, Moore had five set assists, Gruhlke had five digs and Jordan Phillips had an ace serve.

Against Sibley-Ocheydoan, Jensen had five kills and Moore had five assists, two ace serves and two digs.

Against Trinity, Jensen finished with 14 kills while Moore had nine assists and six digs. Phillips, Alicia Jorgenson and Moore each had an ace serve.

Moore had 15 set assists and three digs against Okoboji while Jensen had nine kills and Gruhlke had two ace serves.

Against North Union, Caitlyn Clayton had six kills and three ace serves while Moore had 12 assists and Jensen had three digs.

ELC (0-9 overall) is at Storm Lake, Tuesday, Sept. 24, and hosts Spencer on Thursday, Sept. 26.
