Seven Estherville Lincoln Central football players received Class 2A All-District 2 honors following the Midgets 2-7 campaign in 2013.
Four of the six are underclassmen, which will help coach Andy Umthun in his second year in 2014.
Named to the first team were junior quarterback Justin Heinrichs and junior linebacker Carsten Bosch.
Heinrichs led the team on the ground and in the air. He completed 102 of 193 pass attempts for 1,273 yards with nine touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also led the team in rushing with 592 yards and six touchdowns on 134 carries.
Bosch was the heart of the defense as he led the team with 88 tackles-65 solo and 23 assists. Ten of those tackles were for a loss including one sack.
Senior receiver Joe Heinrichs received second-team all-district honors. He was Justin's top receiver as he caught 36 passes for 494 yards and four touchdowns.
Earning honorable mention all district were senior offensive lineman Maysen Lupkes, junior offensive lineman Zach Humble and sophomore defensive linemen Sergio Osornio.
Osornio finished the season second in tackles with 59-44 solo and 15 assists. Eight of his solo tackles were for loss with two of his assists for a loss. He also had three sacks.
Earning all-academic all-district honors were senior Alec Wycoff and juniors Zach Humble and Justin Heinrichs.
