Titans go 1-2 in four-day stretch

EVERLY, GRAETTINGER - Playing three games in four days, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire went 1-2.

On Friday, Jan. 31, the Titans lost to Clay Central-Everly, 58-52, as the two teams split the season series. GT/RA won the first meeting 39-30.

CCE jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the first quarter and led 27-20 at halftime. The Titans rallied in the third period to cut the deficit to two, 37-35, but the Mavericks prevailed in the fourth quarter.

Marly Bakken led the Titans with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She was 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Grace Skattebo had 12 points, Brooke Hoffman had seven, Alex Oleson and Lauren Flaharty each had six, Claire Sparks had four and Morgan McGrauth had three. Hoffman had four assists and three steals. Flaharty also had three steals.

On Saturday, GT/RA won 68-54 over Lake Mills. The Titans jumped out to a 22-11 first-quarter lead but led just 35-34 at halftime. GT/RA then used a 19-4 third-quarter to take a 54-38 lead to start the final frame.

Hoffman led the Titans with 21 points. Skattebo finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Alex Oleson had eight points while Bakken had seven. Flaharty and Claire Sparks each had six points and Emily Moran had two. Morgan McGrauth contributed eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Flaharty also had five assists and five steals.

On Monday, GT/RA lost 59-44 to North Iowa. The teams were tied at 15-15 after one quarter, but the Bison led 30-23 at halftime and 43-28 after three quarters.

GTRA (8-7) hosted Harris-Lake Park in Terril on Friday. The Titans host Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn in Ruthven today and then end the season on the road against Clay Central-Everly on Tuesday.
