NEWELL - Top-ranked Newell-Fonda's pressure was just too much for Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire as the Mustangs ended the Titans' season with a 74-28 victory on Friday.
Newell-Fonda put on the full-court pressure from the start.
The Titans' brief highlight was a 3-2 lead when Brooke Hoffman knocked down a 3-pointer. When Hoffman scored again, GT/RA trailed 9-5.
Newell-Fonda scored the next 11 points with the Titans coming back with the final five of the first quarter on a 3-pointer by Marly Bakken and a basket by Grace Skattebo to cut the lead to 20-10.
But the hosts scored the first six points of the second quarter and kept pushing the lead until the score was 43-19 at the break.
The Mustangs shut out the Titans in the third quarter, 19-0, while building a 62-19 advantage.
Hoffman led the Titans with nine points while Lauren Flaharty had six, Morgan McGrauth had four and Grace Skattebo, Claire Sparks and Morgan McGrauth each had two.
Claudia Larson led Newell-Fonda with 26 points and Maddi Morenz finished with 11.
GT/RA (11-10) had seven seniors playing in their final game-Katie Olesen, Brooke Hoffman, Grace Skattebo, Paige Hoffman, Alex Oleson, Emily Moran and Marly Bakken.
