An Estherville man is facing harassment and trespassing charges.
On Tuesday March 11, at approximately 05:45 Estherville Police were dispatched to a residence in Estherville in reference to an unknown person on the property. The victim also reported that he had been receiving threatening messages.
During the investigation it was determined that 39-year-old John Campbell of Estherville was the person responsible for sending the threatening messages and was likely the person that had been on the victim's property. A search for Campbell ensued. A short time later, police were advised by another Estherville resident that Campbell had entered her property and refused to leave.
Based upon the information received, officers obtained arrest warrants for Campbell. At approximately 3:15 p.m., he was located in Estherville and taken into custody on the arrest warrants without incident.
Campbell was charged with one count of harassment in the first degree, five counts of harassment in the third degree and one count of trespass.
Campbell was transported to the Emmet County Jail and was being held on a $2,000 cash only bond. He made an initial appearance Wednesday before the Emmet County Magistrate.
