YMCA Kinship, which serves children in Emmet and Dickinson counties, is again looking for mentors for children in the two counties.
Following are the communities and the children needing mentors:
n Armstrong - one male, age 11.
n Estherville - one male, age 14; two females, ages 10 and 12.
n Lake Park - one male.
n Spirit Lake - one female, age 14; one male, age 11; two males, age 12; one male, age 6; one female, age 5; one male, age 4; one male, age 7.
n Milford - two female, age 5; one male, age 6.
Children participating in YMCA Kinship have the opportunity to attend Camp Foster and participate in group activities in addition to meeting with mentors.
Mentors must be at least 18 years old, pass a background check and commit to spending a minimum of one hour a month with their mentees.
At a YMCA Kinship Committee meeting this Tuesday at the Estherville Public Library, Renze talked about the Iowa Mentoring Partnership spring conference she attended March 18-19 in Omaha, Neb.
Bedell Family YMCA development director Andrew Fisher also reminded committee members of the annual YMCA Community Support Campaign, formerly the Strong Kids Campaign. The campaign helps sustain YMCA Kinship and other youth programs.
