Estherville Lincoln Central Middle School Principal Nathan Essary has announced he is resigning from position at the end of the school year.
In a letter to the ELC School Board and Superintendent Tara Paul, Essary stated that he is leaving the Estherville community to pursue other personal and professional ventures for him and his wife in central Iowa.
"I look forward to the new direction of my career in education as well as the opportunities for my family," he stated. "However, I will greatly miss everyone that I have met and worked with, especially the students that I have had the pleasure of working for.
"Thank you for the support and the opportunities that you have provided me during the last school year. I will forever be grateful to Estherville Lincoln Central for giving me the chance to make a positive impact on a community as a building principal and allowing me to begin my administrative career."
Other resignations that the ELC School board will consider approving at Monday's regular meeting are Jason Holt, high school vocational ag; and Jennifer Keane and Dorothy Iverson, elementary teacher associates.
Hires to be considered for approval are Macy Dahl, RWC Energizers-Housekeeping-Land; Danielle Wanfalt, vocational ag/FFA; William Dible, eighth grade science; Kathy Foster, summer school reading and Kyle Steffen, student council.
Tranfers include Steve Ingvall from middle school PE to fifth grade; Andy Umthum from alternative high school to middle school PE, Abby Schacherer from fifth-grade special ed to K-2 special ed; Brenda Poss from eighth-grade special ed to fifth grade special ed; Carly Marx from elementary special ed to fifth grade reg ed and Shayla Witzke to Title I.
Under new business is certification of the senior class, discussion of a third/fourth grade reading/math position, pairing of curriculum director and director of alternative education and the superintendent's annual review.
The board also will set a public hearing date for a 2013-14 budget amendment.
