ELC Fine Arts awards presented

Estherville Lincoln Central students received awards - and accolades - at the Fine Arts Awards Ceremony Tuesday night at the ELC gym.

Stacy Christensen, Patrons of Fine Arts president, welcomed everyone and introduced the program directors. Fine arts participants were then recognized from each class.

In the art show, Faculty Choice Awards went to Kendra Bartolo, Rachel Bates and Tayler Bodle. Administrators' Choice Awards went to Tayler Bodle, Rachel Bates and Yesenia Garcia.

Elementary Choice Awards went to Rachel Bates, Tayler Bodle and Kendra Bartolo.

The People's Choice went to Rachel Bates, People's Choice Runner-Up to Kendra Bartolo and People's Choice Second Runner-Up to Tayler Bodle.

People's Choice Honorable Mentions went to Oscar Ramirez, Tayler Bodle, Deana Morales, Yesenia Garcia, Kendra Bartolo, Cayli Newton, Rachel Bates and Alissa Jackson-Doyle.

Best of Show was Tayler Bodle, Best of Show Runner-Up Hannah Newton and Best of Show Second Runner-Up Jordan Phillips.

Instructor's choice awards went to Cayli Newton, Rachel Bates, Alex Acht, Anessa Alverez, Kendra Bartolo, Derek Gebel and Adrianna Garber.

Outstanding Student Artist awards went to Kevin Dong, Anessa Alverez, Jordan Phillips, Kyle Marks, Derek Gebel, Cayli Newton, Rachel Bates and Tayler Bodle.

Becca Lair received the Outstanding Color Guard Award while the Marching Band Spirit Award went to Colton Christensen and Calvin Lynch. The Director's Award went to Kyle Marks.

Alex Murillo received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award while the John Philip Sousa Band Award went to Alicia Jorgenson.

In choir, Outstanding Senior awards went to Kyle Marks, Bailey Adolph, Madison Burns and Shawntel Schwidder.

The National School Choral Award went to Colton Christensen with the Director's Award going to Becca Lair.

In drama, the Outstanding Supporting Actor award went to Dakota Moffitt while the Outstanding Actor award went to Kyle Marks. The Outstanding Supporting Actress award went to Brianna Enerson with the Outstanding Female Actress award going to Michaela Stein.

History Day awards went to Lizzy Herrick, Bailey Adolph and Becca Lair.

Amy Condon presented the Overall Senior Male Fine Arts Award plus a $500 scholarship to Kyle Marks. The Overall Senior Female Fine Arts Award, also with a $500 scholarship, went to Becca Lair.

"Through thick and thin, the Estherville Lincoln Central fine arts program has been like a family to us," said Lair.
