By Michael Tidemann - Staff Writer , Estherville News

The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education Monday approved a number of job changes and current administrative staff and hired a new middle-school principal to replace Nathan Essary who is leaving.

Andy Umthun, current alternative high-school director, head football coach and strength-and conditioning coordinator, is taking a new position as activities director and high-school dean of students

ELC High School Principal Frank Christenson is taking the position of alternative high-school/curriculum director.

Brad Leonard, assistant principal and activities director, is taking Christenson's position as high-school principal.

They will be joined by David McCaulley who will take the position of middle-school principal. McCaulley comes to Estherville Lincoln Central from Nevada where he was athletic director and assistant principal.

ELC Superintendent Tara Paul said McCaulley will be on campus June 11-12 for an in-service. She said McCaulley was at a community college for a couple years before going to Nevada.

Paul said ELC will benefit from McCaulley's administrative experience - something the district was looking for.
