The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education Monday night hired ShiveHattery as the architectural firm for the Demoney renovation and addition slated for completion fall 2016.
The architectural and engineering firm is one of three the district building committee interviewed.
Mark Allen, representing the firm, said ShiveHattery has a full-service design team with electrical, mechanical and structural engineers on staff with experience in renovating K-12 facilities.
Allen said the firm's work would be done in six phases:
n Schematic design.
n Design development.
n Construction documents.
n Bidding and negotiation.
n Construction and administration.
"Having everything under one roof was a big selling point to us," said board member Mike Karels, building committee member.
The board also heard from elementary teachers who told now they have benefited from collaborative time during early out Wednesdays. Robyn Swisher said teachers couldn't have accomplished a lot of the things that they did without the extra time.
The board also approved a 28E agreement with Forest Ridge.
