This year, it was two North Union High School girls who took both honors as Emmet County Fair queen and princess Thursday night on the first day of this year's fair.
Rebecca Boyer, daughter of Jim and Lisa Boyer or Ringsted, has been a member of the Jack Creek Feeders 4-H club for nine years. She has shown swine and lead steer and plans on attending Simpson College this fall to study political science.
Boyer said 4-H has helped her develop her leadership skills, and as far as being one of two North Union students named this year's Emmet County Fair royalty, said Boyer, "I think it was a coincidence."

Irmiter plans on getting her nursing RN at Iowa Lakes then going on for her nurse practitioner degree at South Dakota State University.
