The Black Knights Car Club of Estherville is holding its Sweet Corn Days car show at a new venue this year - along North Eighth Street and First Avenue North on Saturday, Aug. 2.
The show was previously held on North Sixth Street and extending west on First Avenue North. An expanded Sweet Corn Days is one reason for the move.
Matt Stine of American Muscle said club cars are requested to park around his shop on Central and Eighth Avenue to allow guest car show exhibitors to take advantage of more shade, making it a better location than before on North Sixth Street. Stine said club members will be able to take photos of their cars parked in front of doors painted with company logos.
"It will just make it a lot more presentable," Stine said.
Registration for this year's show will be held in front of American Muscle at Central Avenue and North Eighth Street from 10 a.m. to noon with the show from noon to 3 p.m. Registration is $10 which includes dash plaques to the first 100 entries and door prizes for registrants.
Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. to the top 25 entries by participant vote. Special awards include Mayor's Choice, Best Mopar, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Truck and Best Paint.
Stine will again sponsor the Top Muscle award for the third year. The award goes to cars that personify American Muscle's theme - restoration of classic performance cars.
The club will hold a cruise-in 6:30-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 in Library Square on North Sixth Street, also in conjunction with Sweet Corn Days. Stine will bring a six-lane Hot Wheels track for racing for the kids from 6-8 p.m. and there will be a short cruise at 7:30.
