The Emmet County Historical Society Museum will hold an open house 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16.
The open house will feature the museum's library. At 2 p.m. Jeanne Egeland will talk about the descendants of people who lived in the log cabin now on the museum grounds. Egeland has assembled 15 three-ring notebooks of those descendants.
Coffee and bars will be offered in the Greig building at 3 and Wilma Refsell will demonstrate rug making on her family loom. Refsell's ancestors brought the loom from Norway.
