A funeral service for Shirley Mae Moore, 74, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka. Visitation will be held from 4 -7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Titonka. Graveside services will be held in the Burt Cemetery.
Shirley Mae (Ackerman) Moore was born on Aug. 1, 1940, in Algona to Earl and Grace (Carlisle) Ackerman. Shirley was educated in the Burt Community School. On Jan. 19, 1957, she was united in marriage to Eulan Schuller. They initially settled in the Lotts Creek area and later purchased a farm in Titonka. Five children were born to this union; Vicky (Larry) Nelson of Titonka, IA, Rick (Jary) Schuller of Burt, IA, Thomas (Deb) Schuller of Jackson, MN, Jeffrey Schuller of Buffalo Center, IA, and Julie (Jeffrey) Barnes of Palo, IA.
Shirley was remarried on Oct. 16, 1993, to Norman Moore. They lived successively in Ankeny, Missouri, Idaho and later, Estherville, Iowa.

Shirley was known for her work ethic, helping on the farm, and later working at Winnebago, the Red Dog Lounge, Green Giant, Eaton and Pioneer. Shirley had detasseling down to a science and mentored all of her children in her efficient methodology. She was the Contract Inspector (CI) of the Schuller family detasseling unit and later became a CI for Pioneer. Shirley loved to garage sale, searching for special items for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Norm, doting over their dog, Arco and working outside with her little buddy, Clay. The holiday gatherings she hosted for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were beloved for her wonderful cooking and thoughtful gift-giving, but especially because it was so important for her to gather her family together.
Shirley died in her home in Estherville, Iowa on Friday, August 15, 2014, at the age of 74, after battling pancreatic cancer.
The family would like to extend our deep appreciation to the staff at Avera Holy Family Hospital, and for the wonderful care and support of the Hospice Staff.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Norman Moore; her children, Vicky, Rick, Tom, Jeffrey and Julie; step-son, Steve (Maryanne) Moore of Geneva, IA; her grandchildren, Shawn (Carla) Nelson of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; Danielle Nelson of Rockwell, IA; Justin (Amanda) Schuller of Burt, IA, Jill (Bryan) Paul of Mason City, IA; April Schuller of Emmetsburg, IA; Paige Schuller of Emmetsburg, IA; Glen Schuller of Mason City, IA, Nolan Schuller of Jackson, MN; Stacey (David) Westby of Madison, SD, Cassandra Schuller of Eagle Grove, IA, Nicole and Jamie Thompson of Palo, Iowa; step-grand-children, Benjamin Petersen of Fairmont, MN, Travis Petersen of Burt, IA, Tiffanney (Matt) Learn of Des Moines, IA, Kristin (Matt) Houck of Lizella, GA and Anysa Moore; great-grandchildren, Barrett and Evelyn Nelson, Nicholas Nelson, Madison Paul, Nathan Rosburg, Lawson Jackson, Jr., Lorelei Jackson, Liam Jackson, Nevaeh Schuller, Aydalee Schuller and Gianni Schuller-Acosta, sisters, Janet Gilliland of Estacada, OR, JoAnne (Dale) Scharn of Lytton, IA, and Nancy Fry of Estherville, Iowa; nieces, Teresa Scharn (Wendell Crosser), Tonya (Chad) Lankford, Angela Johnston, and Carrie (Khye) Kading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Stephen Fry.
