Warriors cruise past Bulldogs

SWEA CITY - North Union jumped out to a 4-0 lead over visiting Lake Mills on Wednesday and cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Bulldogs on Wednesday.

Anna Ingalls pitched a complete game, recording 10 strikeouts while giving up one earned run on six hits. She gave up no walks and the lone run came in the top of the seventh inning.

North Union finished with 11 hits. Sarah Rolling and Kyarsten Mullen each went 3-for-4. Rolling had a double, a home run and two RBI. Mullen had four stolen bases. Autumn Boland was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Ingalls was 1-for-3 and Peyton Oleson and Kate Anderson each went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

NU?earns sixth straight win

BANCROFT - North Union notched its sixth straight win in the past week and third shutout in that time span with a 9-0 victory over Lake Mills on Wednesday.

Corey Vaske pitched six innings and recorded three strikeouts while giving up four hits and three walks in earning the win. Colin Runksmeier closed out the final inning and gave up one hit.

Offensively, the Warriors pounded out 13 hits, scoring four runs each in the second and sixth innings.

Vaske helped his own cause as he went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and four RBI. Runksmeier finished 3-for-4 with an RBI while Parker Oleson was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Also Tanner Doocy was 2-3, Alex Krantz was 1-for-4 with an RBI and Logan Hellman and Blake Crawmer each had one hit.

Titans drop two straight

After winning two straight games, the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Softball Team fell by identical 10-0 scores earlier this week to Okoboji on Tuesday and East Sac County on Wednesday.

Against the Pioneers, Taylor Park pitched five innings in the loss. Eight of Okoboji's 10 runs were earned. Park gave up nine hits and one walk.

GT/RA managed just four hits-one each by Hailey Derrickson, Lauren Flaharty, Morgan McGrauth, and Ariah Sanculi.

The Titans were held to just one hit against East Sac County with McGrauth going 1-for-2. Park again took the loss as she pitched five innings and gave up 10 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
