Taking on Class 3A No. 10 Spencer, Estherville Lincoln Central struggled to get the hits on Wednesday as the Tigers left town with a 3-0 victory on Wednesday.

The Midgets mustered just two hits and only had four base runners. ELC's best chance to score came in the fourth inning as Evan Olesen led off with a single, moved to second on a passed ball and to third on a groundout. But a pop up ended the threat.

Olesen finished 1-for-3 while Briar Rowley was 1-for-2.

ELC's Trey Jacobson took the loss despite a good night on the mound. All three Tiger runs were earned. Jacobson struck out five batters and gave up five hits and one walk.

"Spencer's four and five guys had four of the five hits," said ELC coach Lee Evans. "Offensively, we had some solid hits, but they were right at the defense. We just need to stay confident and keep at it."

ELC (7-9 overall) is at Spirit Lake tonight and hosts Sheldon in a varsity-only contest at 6 p.m. on Friday.

ELC hosts its tournament on Saturday, taking on Okoboji at 12:30 p.m. OABCIG takes on Humboldt in the 12:30 p.m. game with the consolation game at 3 p.m. and the championship game at 5:30.
