Keeping in touch

July 5, 2015
Estherville News

The great thing about holidays, like this past weekend, is that it is a time to catch up with family and old friends. It's time to reminisce of the old times as well as the time to make new memories.

In today's crazy life, people often forget the importance of keeping in touch with those who have shared in many of their life moments. It is those people that come into your lives, whether for a short time or for a lifetime, that leave everlasting footprints on your heart. People often remember those people who have touched their lives yet they do not pick up the phone to call because the bustle of life consumes their days.

However, we can thank holidays like this past weekend for giving people the opportunity to reunite and act like time had never passed since last seeing each other.

If you observed those around you this weekend, you probably noticed the unrelenting smiles, the boisterous laughter and the endearing hugs as people gathered for the Fourth of July celebrations and class reunions.

People forgot their cares for the weekend and took time to enjoy the moment of now rather tomorrow.

It is a beautiful thing the amount love and joy one person can feel as well as bring out in another and this weekend was just that. It was a weekend of being surrounded by those we love and share a connection with. The stories of the old and the stories created as well as all those involved are that of the finest treasures and no amount of riches can replace that.
