Taking a little time

Estherville News Editorial

Estherville News

The last few weeks have been quite busy with the Emmet County Fair and Estherville's Sweet Corn Days and soon the beginning of school and fall sports.

It seems as if summer has come and gone in a blink of an eye.

If you are a kid, you have probably enjoyed the fast pace of summer activities and hanging with friends.

If you are a parent, you may feel as if you been running ragged with work, hauling kids around and attending sporting events.

As the next few weeks wind down with the end of summer events and fall events yet to start, it is a great time to take a few moments to stop and smell the roses, so to speak.

Take for yourself as well as for your family. Time flies by and you cannot get back those moments you miss.

Take time to reflect upon the last half of the year and where you may be at with your goals for 2015. Are you where you wanted to be six months ago? Are you on your way to conquering your goals?

If not, it's not too late to get your behind in gear and push to achieve what you wanted to achieve at the beginning of the year.

What you may find is the need for some restructuring of priorities or simply just a break from everyday life.

Either way, this is the time for a much-needed break, whether it's a day at the spa with your best friend or a mini family vacation to the lake.
