A great place to grow

On Wednesday, Estherville Ambassadors welcomed one new business, one new financial advisor and one business relocation. Estherville, with the help of some great community members and city officials, is growing into a town that has a lot to offer not only residents but visitors as well.

Consistent growth is key to prosperity and what is great about Estherville is that the town is growing in all aspects of living, not just one.

Over the past year, the town has welcomed multiple new businesses and is continuing to welcome new businesses. While some may think of Estherville's empty buildings as a negative, it should be seen as potential for growth. The town has the room for new businesses and has dedicated people working to fill those empty buildings and lots.

Education is the key to success and Estherville should be proud of the fine institutions it is able to offer families and incoming students. The Estherville Lincoln Central school district has been hard at work improving their school buildings and providing the resources for teachers and students to succeed. Then with Iowa Lakes Community College, students are gaining the valuable skills needed to succeed in their careers and in their lives.

Many ELC and ILCC students choose to remain in the area to work and raise families, and some that do move away end up coming back.

Along with education and businesses, Estherville always has something going on socially, whether it be through the schools, the library, the nature center or one of the many organizations within the community. Annual events such as Relay for Life and the Fort Defiance Mud Run are just a few of the events area residents look forward to attending every year.

Whether it's work, play or shop, Estherville provides it all. The citizens of Estherville should be proud of what their town has to offer and should also take time to thank those businesses and individuals that make it all happen.
