Governor will visit Estherville for a 9:30 tour of the Excel!?Building

Gov. Terry Branstad will visit Estherville to tour the Emmet County Entrepreneur Center at 12 South 6th Street.

The Center was open to the public Saturday morning during Sweet Corn Days.

The first floor of the building will soon be home to Central Perk Coffee Shop. A local couple plans to open the shop with their daughter and granddaughter.

"Our mission is to move ahead and get it done,"?Lyle Hevern, Economic Development Director, said.

In addition to the Entrepreneur Center, "We will highlight for the governor the cluster of wind companies locating to this area,"?Hevern said. Local wind energy company RedRock?Wind Energy, with development company TradeWind Energy out of Lenexa, Kansas, will develop a wind farm with 180?turbines generating 360 megawatts in Emmet County, scheduled to spin in 2018.

The Entrepreneur Center provides technical services to entrepreneurs as they startup and grow, and office space to startups to develop new businesses, Hevern said.
