Warriors host HMS Hawks for Homecoming

ARMSTRONG - North Union will be looking for a homecoming victory as Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn comes to town on Friday.

The Warriors (1-3 overall) are coming off losses to two of the district leaders in Ridge View and Bishop Garrigan. HMS (0-4 overall) has struggled to score this season and was shut out by Ridge View 28-0 last week. Their season-high total of 13 points was in a 41-13 loss to West Sioux, Hawarden in Week 2.

Norman Schirmer leads the ground attack with 211 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. Most of that came on a 53-yard touchdown run. No other player has more than 25 yards rushing. Quarterback Brett Wohlert is just 11-of-32 passing for 141 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions.

North Union has had more success running the ball. Derek Thompson had 330 yards and two touchdowns on 103 carries. Isaac Engeman has 261 yards and four touchdowns on 72 carries.

Eythan Blair leads the Warrior defense with 48.5 tackles. Engeman is next with 20.5 tackles.

Titans looking

for another win

GRAETTINGER - Class 8-Man No. 10 Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire can't afford to overlook Kingsley-Pierson this Friday.

The Titans (3-1 overall) are coming off an easy 70-24 victory over Siouxland Christian. Despite its 1-3 record, Kingsley-Pierson has some weapons that GT/Ra will have to contain.

Quarterback Camden Bainbridge is 28-of-72 passing for 462 yards and eight touchdowns with four interceptions. But Lee Phelan accounts for most of the yards as he has rushed for 361 yards and three touchdowns on 84 carries and also has caught 17 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns. Coby Fischer provides another target for Bainbridge as he has 174 yards and four touchdowns on just eight receptions.

Kingsley-Pierson opened the season with a 40-18 win over River Valley, but followed with a 36-12 loss to Boyer Valley (3-1), 48-26 to West Bend-Mallard (3-1) and 48-13 to Newell-Fonda (48-13).

The Titans' lone loss came to Newell-Fonda in Week 3.

Kolton Roth leads the ground attack with 481 yards and 11 touchdowns on 77 carries. Quarterback Jacob Conlon has 350 yards and four touchdowns on 48 carries and Simon Cahling has 92 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. Through the air, Conlon is 36-of-55 passing for 455 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Eric Sundall has 10 catches for 163 yards, Nate Larson has 161 yards on nine catches, Roth has 72 yards on four catches and Chris Conlon has 60 yards on 10 catches.

Roth continues to lead the defense with 23 tackles while Sam Skattebo has 22 and Jacob Conlon and Chris Conlon each have 21.
