Except for an early 2-0 lead in the first game by Estherville Lincoln Central, North Union led from start to finish the rest of the night in sweeping the Midgets in non-conference volleyball on Thursday.

In that first game, North Union came back with a 7-1 run and stretched the lead to nine points, 20-11 before the Midgets made a late run.

ELC took advantage of some Warrior errors and fought back within two, 23-21. However, ELC's final two swings landed out of bounds as North Union took the first game.

The Warriors jumped out to a 4-0 lead with ELC again battling back within two at 14-12.

But North Union kept a four to six-point lead after that with Kate Anderson scoring recording a kill to get to 24 and ELC sending the ball long on game point.

The final match was nearly all Warriors. They again started with a 4-0 lead with ELC getting to within two at 12-10 after a double block by seniors Rylee Miller and Rachel Lambert. However, North Union rattled off the next seven points, which included a pair of ace serves by Anna Ingalls.

North Union's attack was led by Maddie Rolling, who finished with six kills, while Olivia Marlow and Lyndsey Deitering each had five. Kate Anderson finished with 13 set assists while Alexis Valvick had 12. Marlow led the defense with 17 digs while Ingalls had 15 and Breanna Anderson had 11.

North Union finished 66-of-71 serving with 11 aces including three each by Ingalls and Breanna Anderson and two by Marlow.

For ELC, Lindsey Jensen had four kills, Molly Diekmann had three and Vanessa Woelber and Rachel Lambert each had two. Kendall Evans had eight set assists.

North Union (16-12 overall) ends the regular season at Emmetsburg on Thursday.
